Dr. Marcus Brubaker is a Research Director at Borealis AI, an Assistant Professor at York University, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto and a Faculty Affiliate of the Vector Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 2011 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago. He is an Associate Editor for IET Computer Vision, a part of the organizing committee for CVPR 2018 and an Area Chair for ECCV 2018 and WACV 2019. He has been involved in a number of startups including as the co-founder of Structura Biotechnology Inc and a research associate for Cadre Research Labs. His interests span computer vision, machine learning and statistics and he has worked on a range of problems including protein structure determination, video-based human motion estimation, physical models of human motion, Bayesian inference, ballistic forensics, and autonomous driving.
