Bio
Laurent Simon is a Full Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at HEC Montréal. He created and teaches courses on innovation management at all university levels (Baa, MSc, MBA…) and in executive education programs (Creative leadership, Innovation management for growth, Design Thinking for firms like Ubisoft, Ludia, Genetec, Desjardins, La Capitale…). He received an award for pedagogical excellence in 2005, and a joint Professorship in creativity and innovation management in 2015.
His research focuses mainly on innovation-minded projects, knowledge management and how creativity is managed in various settings. He is the co-founder and co-director of Mosaic, HEC Montréal’s creativity and innovation hub focusing on research, knowledge transfer and dissemination in partnerships with local and international organizations (Ubisoft, Cirque du soleil, Michelin, Bombardier, Chanel, Salomon, Via Rail, Hydro-Québec, Ville de Montréal, PMI…). He co-leads the Summer School in Managing Creativity for Innovation, a unique two-weeks hybrid and experiential learning expedition in partnership with University of Barcelona, flagship of the International Network of Mosaic Creativity Schools (Strasbourg, Lille, Bangkok, Berlin, Grenoble, Tokyo…). He is regularly called on by private, public and parapublic organizations to provide his insight into these topics.
