Bio

Laura Curtis Ferrera, a chartered marketer, currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Marketing, Global Wealth Management, Global Business Banking and Canadian Banking. Since joining Scotiabank in February 2015, Laura has had an integral role in strategic marketing of the brands domestically and abroad, including the launch of Scotia Wealth Management.

Within the Global Business Banking portfolio, she has been working to create a consistent client promise and brand experience across all business banking units including notably the launch of two award-winning programs: the Scotiabank Women InitiativeTM for women entrepreneurs and the Path to Impact for small business owners.

Prior to joining Scotiabank, Laura’s prospecting strategies helped Macquarie Private Wealth double their national network of advisors and she developed a comprehensive suite of marketing support resources and services to assist those advisors to serve clients and build revenues. Laura’s boutique marketing team won top ranking for advisor support among all national independent investment firms in Canada in the Investment Executive Brokerage Report Card in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and again in 2014.

Outside of her business line responsibilities, Laura is a committed member of many of the organizations that the Bank supports including the Duke of Edinburgh award, Hot Docs documentary film festival and Children’s Aid Foundation. She recognizes the importance of access to opportunities that enrich Canadian communities. By helping Canadians across the country bring their passions to life, she believes we’re all richer.
