Bio
Hong Luo is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School. Her research focuses on the economics and business strategies of firms whose key assets are innovative ideas and intellectual property. For example, how far should an innovator develop an idea before selling it to downstream buyers who then develop it into a product? How should one manage the infringing use of IP? How do certain firm and public policies influence the type and quality of new ideas? She studies these questions in a variety of different contexts, including creative markets for movies and digital images, technological industries such as biotech and medical devices, and general entrepreneurial context. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Stern School of Business, New York University, where she was a recipient of the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship in Entrepreneurship Research.
