Bio

Danielle is a Principal at Dream Maker Ventures, the first Canadian Venture Capital (VC) Fund founded by persons of colour and women, focused on investing in diverse, underrepresented, underestimated entrepreneurs. The Diversity Fund I primarily invests in early-stage tech companies with founding teams inclusive of persons of colour, women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+, immigrant and indigenous entrepreneurs. The Diversity Fund invests in Seed to Series A AI/ML, Blockchain, Consumer, and Enterprise software companies across Canada and the U.S.

Danielle has been active in the tech ecosystem, first as a consultant for Deloitte and then as the Women in Tech Manager for Communitech and Market Readiness Fund Manager for OCE. Danielle founded the Fierce Founders programs, the first female-focused accelerator and bootcamp series in Canada, which continues to provide over $500K in seed funding to early stage female-led startups.

She is a champion and advisor for women’s initiatives such as #MovetheDial, the Big Push, Dovetail Summit, the Canadian Women’s Network and GTAN WIT, the first angel group training program for female investors. She has been an important part of the angel community network, as a board member, investment officer and advisor to GTAN, the Angel Alliance, Holt Fintech Accelerator and the Laurier Startup Fund.

Danielle holds a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Masters of Arts (M.A.) from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Trinity College, University of Toronto.
