Bio
Kyle Winters joined NEXT Canada in May of 2019, as Chief Advancement Officer. In this capacity, he strengthened relationships with corporate partners, cultivated new donors and developed a robust alumni engagement strategy. In June of 2021, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. Kyle is now responsible for maintaining a strong, transparent and productive relationship with NEXT’s board of directors, emeritus board of advisors, and alumni advisory council. He is supported by an outstanding leadership team with subject matter expertise in programs, advancement (fundraising and alumni affairs), marketing and finance and operations.
Kyle brings more than 25 years of not-for-profit leadership experience to NEXT Canada. After two decades at the University of Toronto, he left his role as Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to join the leadership team at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, as National Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. Prior to joining NEXT Kyle served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research.
Kyle has secured gifts and negotiated partnerships at unprecedented levels of support in each of the organizations he has worked for. Additionally, he has managed teams that have received national and international recognition for their creative and professional accomplishments.
Kyle earned a Global MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and completed the EMBA certification program at the University of St. Gallen. He has also completed executive education courses in leadership and strategic negotiation at the Harvard Business School.
Kyle is an avid traveller, a collector of eclectic art and a leader who takes great pride in the accomplishments of his team. He is committed to supporting NEXT’s mission of increasing Canadian prosperity through entrepreneurship.
