As a member of the NEXT Canada management team, Jon leads all domestic and international recruitment activities for the organization’s three entrepreneurial programs (NextAI, Next 36 and Next Founders) as well as NextED, an educational initiative to increase technology adoption within the business and public sectors. He is responsible for external communications, marketing and measuring the effectiveness of all elements of the NEXT recruitment strategy.

Jon manages a team that is responsible for community and alumni engagement and he is the owner of critical relationships with key stakeholders across technology, startup, government and academic ecosystems. He is also spearheading the creation of an alumni success framework to further celebrate, support and connect a growing network of incredible alumni innovators.

Jon joined NEXT Canada in 2011 and prior to his current role, was the Director of Marketing & Communications. Prior to joining NEXT Canada, Jon was Associate Director, Career Information with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) where he spent almost ten years promoting the CA designation to students across Ontario.

He has been actively involved with the Canadian Association of Career Educators & Employers, where he sat on the National Board of Directors from 2007-2010. Jon has served on the Advisory Boards for Venture for Canada and the MLSE Foundation: 3TO6 Team. Jon has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and an International Business Diploma from Vaxjo University in Sweden.
