Eric Chouinard is a family man, an entrepreneur at heart and a founder of iWeb, a Canada-based Infrastructure-as-as Service (IaaS) and Cloud provider that sold to Internap.com in November 2013 for 148M USD. A graduate in Management Accounting from the Université du Québec à Montreal (UQAM), he has also completed programs from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He was named to the prestigious Top 40 Under 40 for Canada in 2010, then went on to win UQAMs Young Leader Performance award in 2011. While a student in management accounting, Eric became aware of the Internet, then a new phenomenon. Almost immediately, Eric shifted his studies towards this emerging technology and soon after, he co-founded what would become iWeb. Ever since, a culture of innovation characterizes iWeb, as the company is constantly developing new services and new technologies which will make the company’s own services – and those of its competitors – obsolete. Today, iWeb now has over 360 employees, and allows more than 30,000 global customers to deliver today’s Internet technologies and to create tomorrow’s online innovations, by providing an on-demand and scalable web, server and Cloud infrastructure.
