Leonard has been involved in start-ups and entrenched high-technology companies over the past two decades, from starting his own consultancy specializing in protective device coordination and power systems analysis, to consulting for a diverse group of companies including Oracle Telecomputing, Philsar, Conexant, Skyworks, and RIM. Leonard has a passion for teaching and mentoring and he is an Associate Professor and the Associate Chair with the Department of Electronics, Carleton University, Ottawa. His research experience includes low power CMOS electronics for sensor applications and wearable technology. He holds numerous Canadian and US patents and he has acted as an expert witness in Federal court. Most recently he combined his love for technology with his passion for fitness and co-founded GestureLogic, an Ottawa area high-technology company focused on athletic performance solutions.
