David grew up in the Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam where he spent a lot of his spare time playing hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. He was a member of the BC provincial basketball team in 2006 and 2007 and graduated from Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in 2008. In the fall of 2008 he attended the University of British Columbia while in the summer he worked or Kiewit on the Port Mann Highway 1 project and played Jr. A lacrosse for the Coquitlam Adanacs where he won a Minto Cup in 2010. While attending UBC, David had a brief stint playing professional lacrosse for the then Washington Stealth of the NLL. In his latter years at UBC, David started working on the project that would become the basis for ReDeTec and graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Science in Engineering Physics in May 2014. Immediately after graduation, David moved to Toronto to work full time on the business.
