Far & Wide Collective

Before establishing Far & Wide Collective in 2013, Hedvig was the Managing Director of Turquoise Mountain – a not-for-profit organization with four hundred staff operating in Afghanistan under the Prince of Wales’ Charities. She managed a large urban regeneration project in the old city of Kabul and ran four schools training young Afghans in traditional arts and crafts with a $25 million budget. Prior to this Hedvig established Building Markets in Afghanistan promoting local procurement to boost the economy. In her time the organization facilitated for more than $60 million in contracts by linking local businesses with international buyers. She also worked with the UNDP and served with ISAF as an army Captain, also in Afghanistan. Previously Hedvig served as a United Nations Military Observer in Abkhazia, Georgia and worked for the Danish Embassy and Velux Windows in Moscow and the Black Sea region. Hedvig has a B.A. from Copenhagen Business School in philosophy and economy and a M.A. from Yale University in international relations.
