Sonia Sidhu

Bachelor of Commerce, University of British Columbia

Sonia is a believer in challenging the status quo and driving impact in the world. Currently, Sonia seeks to marry her creative eye for business with the Indian ethnic wear market at her venture, Mohini, which seeks to make Indian fashion affordable and accessible through an online platform to rent, wear, and return Indian fashion. On a personal level, Sonia seeks to revolutionize the way people shop for ethnic wear, and create a global community of Indian fashion.  Born and raised in Vancouver, Sonia is a recent Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the Sauder School of Business at UBC with a specialization in Marketing. She is currently a Fellow at The Next Big Thing Foundation, an entrepreneurship accelerator in partnership with Hootsuite Media in Vancouver. Previously, Sonia co-chaired the Me Inc. Conference, the largest student-run conference at Sauder; worked in portfolio management at Canaccord Genuity; and consulted impact-driven ventures at the Centre for Social Innovation and Impact Investing at the Sauder School of Business. During her time at Sauder she also competed in JDC West, Western Canada’s premier business school case competition, and completed a semester at the ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona, Spain.
