Nicola is a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto and is passionate about tackling healthcare’s emerging complexities through an innovative and business-minded approach. He has founded the Business in Medicine Group at the medical school to expose medical students to the impact they can have through the business side of medicine, and has created an experiential program where medical students will tackle problems for healthcare organizations through a business lens. Last summer, Nicola interned at St. Michael’s Hospital, where he led an initiative to evaluate the strategic alignment of the hospital’s telemedicine program. Currently, he is working with a stealth healthcare startup to increase access to homecare through technology, as well as volunteering alongside consultants from McKinsey and Company to help define strategy for a fintech startup.
An aspiring physician-entrepreneur, Nicola is excited at the opportunity of leveraging his experience in medicine and business to start his own venture through The Next 36.
