Tom Grainger is determined to leave this world better than he found it. A fourth year student at Western University, Tom is pursuing a dual degree in Business and Mechatronics Engineering. He was recognized as a National Scholar and had the highest academic average of all 600 students admitted to Ivey in his HBA class. Outside the classroom, Tom is heavily involved in improving student life as the President of Western's Undergraduate Engineering Society and President of his section at the Ivey Business School. He spent his last summer honing business-to-business sales abilities at Procter and Gamble. The summer prior to that, he worked to make medical devices more affordable for sufferers of chronic disease at Canada Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics. Tom believes deeply in the value of education, developing programming to teach engineering principles in elementary schools and volunteering with Western Reach to help at-risk youth graduate high school. He is the middle child between two sisters and plays ultimate frisbee in his spare time. A handyman, Tom makes lamps out of discarded alcohol bottles at the workbench he carpentered.
