Khalid Karim

Khalid is a fourth year student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) completing his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Commerce. A passion for programming has allowed Khalid to hold positions in technical sales, customer service and software development. His technical experience involves the founding of two startups, independent contract work for the private sector, and software development for crown corporations. Building on his technical skills, Khalid's work experience has allowed him to build custom software platforms capable of handling billions of requests per day, automate accounting systems, and build mobile applications. In his time outside school Khalid found time to participate in a variety of competitions placing first in Western Canada as part of Facebook's Hackathon and then proceeded to place first worldwide as part of Facebook's Global Hackathon.
