Cynthia Liao is currently completing her final year at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She has a background in international relations and is interested in pursuing a career that combines her interest in public policy, sustainable international development, technology and entrepreneurship. She is an avid traveler and foodie and hopes to one day become a serial expat. She has extensive experience leading and implementing strategy transformation changes in multiple capacities: from her work experience in a real estate management firm and an Indian social enterprise in renewable energy to her role on the Executive Board of the Ivey MBA-HBA Entrepreneurship Club. She is currently writing a research paper on entrepreneurial innovations in medical devices and biotechnology for the bottom of the pyramid market. Her research has given her ample exposure to the challenges of health care access and affordability in the context of international development as well as how various technological innovations are rapidly changing the status quo. Cynthia is passionate about creating sustainable changes in developing economies and hopes to devote her career to social entrepreneurship.
