Passionate about social innovation and consumer behaviour, Samantha Phelan is a marketing major from Memorial. A restless adventurer, she has lived throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Dedicated to leadership and community involvement, Samantha has acted as Canadian Ambassador at the APEC CEO & Leader’s Summit, President of her graduating class in university, a national and international case competition competitor, and a key organizer of several Atlantic Canadian conferences.
In 2012, she co-created “Seven for Seven”; a seven day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro for the 7,000 young Canadians diagnosed with Cancer every year. She was also recognized as one of the top six business students in Atlantic Canada for her strong academics and entrepreneurial spirit as recipient of the prestigious Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies.
She currently works in Sponsorship and Marketing with the Winnipeg Jets AHL affiliate team, the St. John's IceCaps. She sits on the Board of Directors for the NL Chapter of the Children's Wish Foundation, as well as on the board for IABC- NL. In her spare time, you can find her at the local ice rink coaching or competing in Figure Skating with the Prince of Wales Skating Club.
