Amy Berard is a third-year business co-op student majoring in marketing at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, BC. Amy spent the last two years of her degree as a recognized leader on TRU's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team. In May 2010 she was awarded the John Dobson Founder’s Bursary – one of only six SIFE students in Canada to be recognized for their outstanding leadership. She has completed two co-op work terms and was recently named TRU’s 2010 Co-op Student of the Year for her achievements. Her most recent co-op experience at the Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way as their community development assistant resulted in her current part-time position as the research assistant with the Kamloops Homelessness Action Plan. Amy currently holds the volunteer communications and promotions coordinator title with CIBC Run for the Cure raising awareness of breast cancer research and prevention in Kamloops.
