Umar is a co-founder at Dataspine, where he leads engineering. He brings expertise in areas of machine/deep learning, control systems, robotics and edge computing, as well as competitive strategy and engineering management. Umar holds the Master of Engineering Management degree from Duke University USA, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan. At Duke, his academic research has revolved around optimizing neural network architectures, real-time data pipelines and
systems. Before that, Umar led a research group working on autonomous vehicular control systems. Previously, Umar was a technical consultant at Parsons Corporation, where he architected the company’s innovation strategy as a market leader in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) industry.
