Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Taher came to Canada to pursue tertiary education. He studied at the University of Toronto, where he earned a Hon. BSc. In Computer Science and Mathematics in 2015. After receiving his degree, having always been interested in entrepreneurship over employment, he was a founding employee at a company which traded agricultural commodities. There, required to wear many hats, he successfully closed sales contracts with major buyers, developed algorithms which reduced shipping costs up to 12% and patented a novel production method for manufacturing teabags. Presently, he is exploring opportunities where cutting edge machine learning algorithms may be used to offer solutions to the finance and logistics industries.
