Irena Barbulovic-Nad, PhD is a passionate inventor, entrepreneur and co-founder of Kapplex, a Toronto-based developing platform technology for life sciences and diagnostics. Irena led the company as CTO and CEO until its acquisition by Miroculus in 2016, when she took the roles of Miroculus COO and Head of Miroculus Canada. Miroculus is a diagnostic company headquartered in San Francisco, developing automated and minimally invasive diagnostic solutions for early cancer detection. Irena has over 12 years of combined executive, commercialization and research experience in life sciences and healthcare technologies and holds PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto and MASc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
